The Noise Around Us

WAIT I CAN’T HEAR YOU! These words are often coming out of my mouth. I guess it is understandable the place I am employed is loud. If one was to walk around the plant whom is not used to such rhythmic shock waves pulsating through the air they (I assume) would agree it is quite loud, even noisy. Yet after 20 years of working in the industrial setting the sound of a out of balance fan, squeaky bearing, air valve not shifting correctly will stop me dead in my tracks to investigate the suspected culprit. Those investigations will often lead to a root cause analysis. Taking us through a simple five why chart or fish bone diagram. One simple sound out of place in chaotic noise could be the difference of a profitable day.

Today sitting at my computer, contemplating a recent news article, the realization of how deafening the times we are living in are is like the first day on the job. Rhythmic shockwaves of media sources pound away at my inner ear. Unrelenting noise of the world draws its deafening blow to permanently damage the “ear drum” of my heart. Headlines such as “At least 6 people in Louisiana have died from Hurricane Laura” (CNN), “Unrest Backlash Coming?” (Fox News) “America, China at loggerheads as Chinese fire missiles into South China sea” (Economictimes), leaves one to almost loose hope, and that is just what might happen until you hear it. . . A quiet sound that seems so out of place in the world today, the sound of truth. “At least 6 people dead from hurricane Laura”, the truth is, “There will be great earthquakes, and in various places famines and pestilences. And there will be terrors and great signs from heaven.” (Luke 21:11). “Unrest Backlash Coming?”, truth is “But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power.” (2 Tim 3:1-17). “America, China at loggerheads”, truth is “For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places.” (Matthew 24:7). Once I hear truth an understanding of all the rumblings of the world makes sense. I no longer loose hope but am encouraged by what I am seeing and hearing. The bible is true, His words are true, I can rest knowing that this chaos must happen in order for His coming! Come on world make your noise, bring it on! The truth has set me free from your fear. The Truth has set me free from your hold. You may rage on, but my God has me standing firm. No matter how loud you become you cannot silence the truth of our Lord Jesus Christ!
